Paddles:

I decided to also make my own paddles. Without them you only have a big, good looking bathtub.

So, of to the internet again and find the one you like the most. I found it at:  Bendingbranches.com.

I downloaded the picture, found the right sizes and started making them.

 

  

 

The paddles are made from Ash in the center surrounded with Red Cedar strips. The blade is made from Red Cedar and Ash as well (looks nice with the colors of the canoe). After that, plane and sand until it's the paddle you want it to be.

 

     

 

I made the handles ergonomic so they fit nicely into your hands.

 

  

 

 

 

 

For the boys I made two smaller paddles when we moved to Sweden. I made them out of the same old table and gave them an epoxy tipp.

On one of them I painted a Wolf and on the other a Bear.
